Basketball Website Now Accepting Donations

News Release

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A locally produced website for Indiana high school basketball is now accepting donations to help cover its costs, a spokesman has announced.

"E.T. Pearl's Basketball Corner," available on the Internet for free at www.ETPearl.com, covers boys and girls teams in an 11-county area of central Northern Indiana. A hyperlink for public donations via credit card or PayPal has been placed on several of the website's pages.

The URL to make donations is www.etpearlsta.homestead.com/newdonate.html

"For all but two of the years we have been on-line, our site has been free," the spokesman said. "In the past we have tried to generate income via both subscriptions and advertisements, but both attempts proved unsuccessful. Now we are hoping that businesses, individuals, booster groups and other sources will help us defray some of the costs of maintaining the site. Perhaps schools whose coaches use the site for scouting purposes or newspapers whose sports writers use it to obtain statistics for their stories might want to help out."

The website has a section that covers current-season data, such as schedules, scores, standings, rosters, individual scoring, area scoring leaders and nightly box scores, as well as a section on history that features data on more than 6,000 teams dating back to the early years of the 20th century.
